RICK OSTRANDER was recently named Vice President for Academic Affairs & Professional Programs at the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU). He has previously served as provost at Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids, Michigan and Academic Dean at John Brown University, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where he oversaw the First-Year Seminar and the University Core Curriculum. He holds a PhD in American History from the University of Notre Dame. His most recent book, Why College Matters to God: An Introduction to the Christian College, is one of the leading texts used by Christian college and universities for first-year seminars and new faculty orientations.
