Report from Hildesheim, Germany, May 2001

How time flies! It seems like just a few days ago that I sent out our last e-mail, and yet it has been too long!! Thanks to all who keep us in their prayers, even when the communication is rare!

Since October we have been working through a series on personal evangelism in our mid-week Bible study groups. We (the missionaries) continue to look for opportunities to reach out to our friends and neighbors, but it isn't something that comes naturally. So we have been discussing discussing the subject and praying for those who don't know Christ.

At the end of our series we wanted to present a practical opportunity for everyone to invite a friend, neighbor or family member, so we decided to plan a Mystery dinner. Most Americans know about mystery dinners, but it is something new to Germans, and many are curious. We are also planning to have a short presentation, including a sketch, to address the "mystery" of eternal life.

Please pray for the dinner this coming Saturday, the 5th of May. Everyone has committed to inviting at least one person, and we are all praying for the evening, that our Lord gives us open hearts willing to hear His gospel. We are looking forward to the opportunity to getting to know some of the friends and acquaintances of our members, as well as the opportunity to share the reason for our joy.
